Monthly Fashion Roundup

F

acebook keeps reminding me that I have saved links (currently at 592).  I’m like, duh, I’m the one that saved them 😉

Anyway, they’re all pretty awesome and interesting, so welcome to my brand new monthly round up post.  Woo hoo!

The 2nd Tuesday of every month, I’ll be sharing my top 5 Facebook saves and style obsessions.  And then maybe I can start deleting some of those saves so Facebook stops freaking out lol.

5 Facebook Saves

Biggest Loser Cancellation – About flippin’ time. You guys know I’m all about loving (or at least accepting) your body as it is in this moment. So a show like the Biggest Loser is the worst thing ever IMAO (in my angry opinion). Not only does it make people feel like crap, it’s literally been ruining the health of the contestants. Now if only they’d stop making shows like that or crap like Mama June: From Not to Hot. Bleh.

The Wedgie Bottom – I’m not a big fan of the idea of running around with a semi-wedgie on the beach.  I mean, I’d brobably spend half the time I should be enjoying myself actually picking my swimsuit out of my but.  No, thanks.  But what really got me about this article was the shaming aspect.  Like people are up in arms about this trend and saying nasty things about women who choose to wear these.  Get of your damn soap box and mind your own business, amiright?

16 Beauty Products You Need to Buy From Your Friends – As someone who sells a product from a direct sales company, I always perk up at posts like these.  I’m not looking to make a career out of direct sales.  I just like having a fab product to share with my clients.  Anyway, while I don’t love or use these, I always love seeing beauty sites support direct sales companies.

9 Fashion Things from Sex and the City That Would Never Fly in Real Life – I was never a big fan of SATC, but I did hear all about the expensive clothes that someone in Carrie Bradshaw’s life would never actually be able to afford.  And the looks were sometimes just plain crazy.  #1-3 are particularly ridiculous.  Enjoy 😉

The Best Shorts For Thighs That Touch – This one pissed me off.  I mean, for one thing, the actual name of the post is The Best Shorts for Thighs That Are “Thick as Thieves”.  Offensive and shaming, much?  Srsly, people.  Anyway, what’s worse is that these particular shorts are awful if you’re someone whose thighs touch (which is most human beings).  Can you say crotch wedgie?  They’re even actually called “wedgie shorts”.  Yuck.  Stick with some good 5” classic rolled hem denim shorts and save hours every day picking your shorts out of your crotch.

5 Style Obsessions

Sseko Designs Ribbon Sandals – I discovered Sseko when a friend of mine had a Facebook party.  I was drawn in by the company’s mission, and they totally got me with their sandals.  You’re going to see these a lot around here lol.  The ribbon sandals are crazy versatile, and super comfy (thank you cushy foam insole).  I got the Sandal Club membership, and I can’t wait to get the rest of my ribbons over the next few months.

White Cuffed Skinny Jeans

Over the Top Sparkly Statement Necklaces – I’m heading to a crazy, girly, pink themed company convention next week, and a couple of my clients are going with me.  So there’s a lot of shopping for bling going on, since basic black dresses can be totally fancied up with the right jewelry.  I’ve spent a lot of time trolling Charming Charlie’s for options.  That place is dangerous.  Never ever go there.

Cream Eye Shadow – I thought cream eye shadow wasn’t for me.  I have oily eyelids, and the stuff always creased.  Well, I finally found one that works.  I use it as an eye primer (it’s a fraction of the cost of my past favorite, the Urban Decay primer), or as my one color shadow if I’m in a hurry.  The Beach Blonde shade is universally flattering.  Seriously life-changing.

High Waist 2 Piece Swimsuit – I’ve worn 2 piece suits in the past (at a variety of sizes), but recently I’d been in a 1 piece.  It bugged me though because I kept having to tug it up, and my boobs never felt secure and supported.  So just for the hell of it I tried on this suit at Torrid, and I’ve never felt sexier.  The high waist doesn’t roll under my post c-section belly, and the top is super supportive.  The straps are adjustable and removable.  Swoon!

Stay tuned in August for more fab links and stylish obsessions!
